This is your chance to recognise the most deserving members of the community - someone who makes a real difference!

The Citizen of the Year Awards are proudly presented by the Australia Day Council of South Australia and administered by local Councils. The Awards reward and recognise individuals and organisations that have made a noteworthy contribution during the current year, and/or give an outstanding service over a number of years, to a local community over and above normal employment duties. Outstanding contribution and community service includes areas such as; education, health, fundraising, charitable and voluntary services, business, sport, arts, the environment, or any other area that contributes to the advancement and well-being of a community.

Award Categories:

Citizen of the Year Award
Presented to the most outstanding Citizen.

Young Citizen of the Year Award
Presented to the most outstanding Citizen aged under 30 years.

Community Event of the Year Award
Presented to the person or group who has staged the most outstanding community event during 2019.

When will the awards be presented?

The Awards will be presented at Australia Day Celebrations at Strathalbyn and Goolwa on Saturday, 26 January 2020.
