Gazania Free Garden Competition

Entries close on 31 May 2018

Calling all gardeners, calling all photographers – show us what you’ve done in your Gazania Free Garden!

Hundreds of householders in Goolwa have taken up the challenge to remove gazanias from their gardens and roadside verges as part of the Gazania Free Goolwa Campaign. Now we would like to celebrate your achievements in the Gazania Free Garden competition.

We are accepting entries in three categories. The first category celebrates the best garden. Creative and beautiful, we are looking for gardens that show what you can do without your Gazanias. The second category is all about improvement. The winner in this category will demonstrate the change in their garden with before and after photos. The last category is for the best photograph, because there is just as much artistic talent in creating a good photo as there is in creating a beautiful garden.

Photos will be displayed in the entrance to the Alexandrina Council Library, to inspire other members of the community to join the campaign against Gazanias.

Photos may be entered in hard copy at the customer service counter, 11 Cadell Street, Goolwa, or posted online here.

Please make sure you have the read judging criteria and rules. Entries for the Gazania Free Garden Competition will close on the 31 May 2018.

Gazania Free Goolwa is a collaborative project between Alexandrina Council, GWLAP, Goolwa CoastCare and the Alexandrina Community Nursery, to encourage the Goolwa community to take action on removing Gazanias from gardens. More information about the Gazania Free Goolwa Campaign, including information about the plant swap offer, is available on the dedicated webpage.
