Strathalbyn - Sandergrove Road

Sandergrove Road upgrade - Contract awarded and works  to commence

Scheduled works to complete the final stages of the Sandergrove Road upgrade and southern entrance to the township, will commenced next week (29 October - 2 November 2018).

Ahead of its previously anticipated commencement in early 2019, it is full steam ahead for civil and landscape works to complete this important project. Following a successful procurement process, Council has reached a major milestone awarding construction and landscape of the project to BMD Constructions Pty Ltd and works will proceed without delay.

Recent and significant street level enhancements to firstly underground power lines, and install new heritage-style streetlamps, has set the groundwork for the completion of the Sandergrove Road streetscape entrance. Works made possible through the Power Line Environment Committee (PLEC) scheme project through the Department for Planning, Transport & Infrastructure.

Comprehensive civil and landscape works for the Sandergrove Road streetscape will include new footpaths (on both sides), street side kerbing, stormwater management system, road asphalting, street furniture, trees and landscaped gardens.

In a staged approach, works to complete the entire project will continue until the end of the financial year.

As speed and traffic restrictions are introduced, we encourage road users to be patient and stick to the speed limit for the safety of our workers.

Further project updates will be provided on this page as the construction phase is undertaken and details come to hand.
